Track record

Ten years as a sole-source supplier to a top-five defense prime, without a missed delivery.

Electronics delivered for seven additional defense and aerospace primes, including electro-optics, rotorcraft, and stabilised camera systems.

Not one part returned, and not one non-conformance. Every part we build is tested before it ships, so it integrates into the larger system without a second look.

Northrop Grumman · L3Harris · General Dynamics · Leonardo DRS · Boeing (Sensor Technology) · PVP Advanced EO · Robinson Helicopter · Cineflex

03 — Delivery

A world-class engineer, and the discipline to deliver on schedule.

Ten years as a sole-source supplier without a missed delivery. Every board tested before it ships — no part has ever come back, and no non-conformance has ever been raised against one. We are turnkey — design through fabrication, assembly and test — because we work with industry-leading manufacturing partners, which gives a small business the capacity of a large one with faster turnaround and lower overhead.

Working a requirement we could fit?

Leave your number and an engineer calls you back promptly — no sales team, no call queue. Tell us the requirement and we will come back to you the same way.

For engineers evaluating us

Why there's no portfolio here

Much of our work can't be shown here. We serve customers in regulated industries where discretion, traceability, and compliance are requirements, not preferences. We are experienced with export-controlled programs and ITAR-aware facility practices, and every engagement begins under NDA. If your program demands a partner who understands why this page doesn't have a portfolio, we should talk.

What we build

Six lines of work. Three of them have their own page; the rest travel with whatever the program needs.

Quick-turn prototyping & electronics design

Concept to functional hardware in weeks, not months. Schematic capture, PCB layout, firmware, enclosure integration, and iterative revisions under one roof. Built for programs where schedule risk is not an option. Detail →

CNC laser cutting & precision fabrication

Tight-tolerance laser cutting for enclosures, brackets, panels, and custom mechanical parts. Rapid turnaround on one-offs and short runs, with the repeatability to scale.

Electronics engineering services

Full-spectrum EE support: circuit design, sensor integration, signal conditioning, power systems, testing and validation. Deep experience with high-reliability and harsh-environment requirements.

Systems design

Architecture-level engineering for complete measurement and control systems: requirements, partitioning, integration, and validation. From concept to fielded hardware.

Inertial measurement

Precision inertial sensing from the ground up: sensor selection and characterization, sensor fusion, calibration, and test. Built for applications where accuracy is non-negotiable. Detail →

Mechanical engineering & manufacturing partners

Enclosures, mounts, and structures designed for manufacture — backed by industry-leading fabrication and assembly partners. Turnkey means we carry the program from design through production; you manage one supplier, not six.

Engineer-owned. Engineer-operated.

MaxMetrix LC is a privately held, engineer-owned and operated firm — small enough to move fast, senior enough to get it right the first time. Our manufacturing partners are industry leaders, so a three-person firm delivers turnkey work at the scale a prime expects, with faster turnaround and lower overhead than a large supplier carries.

Core competencies

  • Electronics design: schematic capture, PCB design and layout
  • Firmware and embedded systems
  • Inertial measurement, sensor integration and calibration
  • Quick-turn prototyping and engineering development units
  • Obsolescence redesign and reverse engineering
  • Precision laser-cut enclosures, panels and brackets
  • Custom test equipment and fixtures
  • Design for manufacturing and design for test, with partner fabrication and assembly managed end to end

Differentiators

  • Ten-year sole-source record with a top-tier defense prime — no returns, no non-conformances
  • Engineer-owned and operated — no layers between you and the work
  • Turnkey delivery through industry-leading manufacturing partners — large-company capacity at small-business overhead
  • Quick-turn: weeks, not quarters

Past performance

Ten years as a sole-source supplier to a top-five defense prime, without a missed delivery.

Electronics delivered for seven additional defense and aerospace primes, including electro-optics, rotorcraft, and stabilised camera systems. Zero returns and zero non-conformances across that record — every part is tested to its specification before it ships. Customer names, scope and period of performance available on request, subject to publicity clauses.

When the part no longer exists

Diminishing manufacturing sources are a sustainment problem, not a procurement problem. A component goes end-of-life, the drawings are incomplete or missing, and a system still in service needs the assembly.

We reverse-engineer the card, redesign around what is actually available, build the technical data package, and produce it in the quantities you actually need.

What we deliver

  • Reverse engineering from sample hardware where drawings are incomplete
  • Form-fit-function replacement design
  • Component obsolescence analysis and alternate-part identification
  • Technical data packages
  • Low-volume production through our assembly partner
  • Test and verification against the original specification

Why a small firm suits this work

Obsolescence work is low volume, high engineering content, and urgent. It does not suit an organisation built for production runs. It suits a small team of senior engineers who can start this week — and who deliver turnkey, because industry-leading manufacturing partners carry the production end without the overhead of a large supplier.

Inertial measurement & sensor systems

Inertial measurement unit design services

An IMU is only as good as the characterisation behind it. Datasheet performance and installed performance are different numbers, and the difference is where programs lose accuracy they assumed they had.

We select and characterise the sensor, build the calibration and the fixture that produces it, close the fusion loop, and verify the result over temperature and vibration on hardware we built for the purpose.

What we deliver

  • IMU and sensor selection against a real error budget
  • Bias, scale-factor and misalignment characterisation over temperature
  • Calibration procedures, fixtures and the test equipment to run them
  • Sensor fusion and attitude estimation, including GNSS-aided configurations
  • Stabilised platform and motion-compensation electronics
  • Vibration, shock and harsh-environment design and verification

Why this is the sharp edge

Sensor work rewards depth over headcount. The engineer who wrote the calibration is the one who reads the residuals, and that shortens the loop between a measurement that looks wrong and knowing why.

Quick-turn prototyping

Quick turn means weeks, and here is where they go

"Fast" is not a specification. These are typical elapsed times for a moderate-complexity mixed-signal card, from a requirement that is already understood. Quoted per job — the point is that the schedule is stated, not implied.

The loop

  1. Architecture and schematic capture1–2 WEEKS
  2. PCB layout, review, release to fabrication1–2 WEEKS
  3. Bare-board fabrication1–2 WEEKS
  4. Assembly — in-house1–2 WEEKS
  5. Assembly — through our production partner3–4 WEEKS
  6. Bring-up, firmware and bench test — you see hardware here2–3 WEEKS
  7. Documentation, test data, delivery1 WEEK

What we deliver

  • Engineering development units and functional prototypes
  • Firmware to the level the demonstration requires
  • Laser-cut enclosures, panels and brackets to fit the card
  • Custom test fixtures and bench equipment
  • Test data with the hardware, every unit, before it ships
  • A production path through an established assembly partner

One revision, not three

Most of the schedule risk in prototyping is spins, not lead times. Senior engineers reviewing their own layouts against their own test plan is how you get to working hardware on the first or second board rather than the fourth. Fabrication and volume assembly run through industry-leading partners, so the turnkey path from prototype to production never changes hands.
